I'm High School Student Rudra B. Dave
Welcome to my website! I am a highly motivated and hardworking individual who is dedicated to serving the community and making a difference.
Who am I?
An EMT Volunteer
An EMT Volunteer- As an EMT, I am an active volunteer at the Centreville Fire Department (CVFD). EMT volunteers provide Basic Life Support (BLS) services as supplemental staffing on paramedic units and as ambulance staff as needed to support the community. Moreover, when I am not on the front line, I attend different labs to learn unique skills, such as Trauma, Patient Assessment, Triaging Mass casualty, Cardiac & Pulmonary Skills, Spinal Immobilization, etc.
A Private Pilot
A Private Pilot- As an Air Force Junior ROTC cadet, I was selected for the prestigious “Chief of Staff of the Air Force Flight Academy Scholarship,” an appx. $28k all-inclusive scholarship to earn a Private Pilot License (PPL) at Flight Academy. I learned to fly day and night, solo and dual, locally and cross country, and received training on High-G. As a Private Pilot, I plan to volunteer and fly for Civil Air Patrol (CAP) search and rescue missions, increase aviation awareness, and encourage youth towards aviation.
An Athlete
An Athlete- I have been involved in many sports and recreational activities since elementary school. I have actively been running with my school’s Cross Country, Winter Track, and Spring Track teams every high school year. Outside of school, I have participated in multiple races, from 5Ks to triathlons, performing in the top 10% of racers and finishing first place at a widely recognized nonprofit running event, Asha Jyothi’s Annual 5K, where over 500 people participated.
A Community Volunteer
A Community Volunteer- Throughout my high school years, I have volunteered with the American Red Cross organization. I volunteered as a National Scheduling Specialist under the Biomedical Services Team and as a Blood Services Member. As a military-certified red cross volunteer, I have also served at the Fort Belvoir Military Hospital by shadowing Neurology, PACU, and Internal Medicine medical professionals.
A Community Leader
A Community Leader- In elementary school, I started my scouting journey as a cub scout and worked to become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. From supporting my community to camping at adventurous locations, Boy Scouts has genuinely been a one-of-a-kind experience and learning opportunity for me in so many ways. I learned much about leadership, community service, emergency first aid, essential knots, camping, and web development.
An NSLI-Y Scholar
A NSLI-Y Scholar- I have won the U.S. Department of State’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program scholarship for the Arabic language. During my few weeks in Morocco, I visited many cities, including Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Tanger, etc. I learned more about Moroccan culture in each city, from the food to traditional clothing. Shukran, Ma’a salama!
A Military Brat &
A Cadet
A Military Brat & A Cadet- As a military brat, I have supported military families by volunteering at many local events in my community. As a fourth-year Air Force JROTC cadet, I have strengthened my leadership and communication skills through public speaking activities, leadership development requirements (LDRs), and team-building exercises. I have also been selected for various leadership positions, from Flight Commander to Chief of Staff, exemplifying servant leadership and serving as a role model for other AFJROTC cadets.
An FTC Team Captain
An FTC Captain- Since the start of middle school, I have been the team captain of my First Tech Challenge (FTC) team, Team Robotwatt! In FTC, I contributed to building and programming our robot and helping our team reach the States-level Championship Tournament for multiple years. Regarding programming, I have learned various languages through summer camps, school, and my own free time. I am proficient at coding in HTML, CSS, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Bash.
A Perseverer & A Dream Achiever
A Perseverer- Despite facing initial setbacks and obstacles, my unwavering determination and consistent training paid off as I crossed the finish line with flying colors. My running journey and time commitment to Cross Country and Track serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, motivating my peers and other runners at the 5K to pursue their dreams relentlessly and never give up on their aspirations in all facets of life.
